Manajemen dan Peningkatan Kualitas Pendidikan Madrasah Diniyah di Pondok Pesantren Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta

Purpose – This study aims to examine the implementation of management at Madrasah Diniyah of Pondok Pesantren Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta as an effort to improve the quality of education. Madrasah Diniyah is part of the pesantren education system, focusing on the teaching of Islamic religious sciences as provisions for both worldly and spiritual life. The educational model is classical, consisting of four levels: Ula, I’dadiyah, Wustho, and Ulya.
Design/methods/approach – This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants include the head of the madrasah, curriculum and student affairs staff, as well as several female students.
Findings – The findings reveal that the management implementation in the madrasah encompasses three main components: input, process, and output. The quality of education is assessed based on the achievement of learning standards set by the institution, particularly regarding students’ understanding of dirasah (Islamic studies). Overall, these standards have been successfully met, indicating that the educational management applied is relatively effective in enhancing students’ academic quality.
