Abstract

Purpose – Digital transformation has significantly changed how organizations manage human resources (HR). The digitalization of HR management, also referred to as electronic Human Resource Management (e-HRM), facilitates the automation of administrative tasks, enables data-driven decision-making, and enhances the strategic role of HR functions. This article aims to systematically review the existing literature on HR digitalization, highlighting its opportunities, challenges, and implications for modern organizations.

Design/methods/approachThis is qualitative research, using literature review method, and focusing on relevant international and national academic sources.

Findings – Findings indicate that digitalization offers substantial benefits such as operational efficiency, the development of people analytics systems, and greater flexibility in learning and performance management. However, challenges including resistance to change, digital competency gaps, and data security concerns remain significant. These findings suggest that successful HR digitalization relies on organizational readiness, effective change management strategies, and adaptive technological infrastructure. This study provides both theoretical insights and practical implications for the future development of digital-based HR strategies.
