Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in West Java

Abstract

This study explores the role of local food movements in empowering small-scale farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture in West Java. By organizing farmer cooperatives and weekly organic markets, the initiative increased farmer income, strengthened community food sovereignty, and promoted environmentally friendly practices. The research suggests that local food systems can be effective tools for both ecological sustainability and rural empowerment when supported by grassroots organizing and market access strategies.
