Abstract

This research explores the impact of community reading gardens (taman baca masyarakat) in increasing children's literacy in remote areas of East Nusa Tenggara. Managed by local volunteers, the reading gardens offered weekly reading sessions, storytelling, and mobile libraries. Findings indicate improved reading habits, parental involvement in children’s education, and the reactivation of community spaces for learning. The study concludes that literacy initiatives rooted in community ownership can bridge educational gaps in remote regions.
