Abstract

This study highlights the role of women’s groups in a community-led mangrove restoration project in northern coastal Java. Women participated in seedling cultivation, coastal monitoring, and environmental education. The project improved coastal protection, diversified household income through ecotourism, and enhanced environmental awareness among local residents. The findings show that involving women in environmental initiatives not only supports ecological goals but also promotes gender-responsive climate adaptation strategies.
